Dr. Joerg Gruenwald

Is a leading European expert in the field of botanicals and natural products. He is president and founder of PhytoPharm Consulting, Institute for Phytopharmaceuticals, in Berlin, Germany, a specialist consulting company for natural products, dietary supplements and nutraceuticals. He is a member of the United States Pharmacopoeia (USP) Panel on Botanicals and advisor to Office of the Dietary Supplements of the National Institute of Health; Editor in Chief of "Advances In Natural Therapy"; European Editor of Nutrition Business Journal and the AHPA Report; and is also Contributing Editor of Nutraceuticals World and Member of the Editorial Board of the Journal for Medicinal Food. As Medical Director of Lichtwer Pharma (1988 – 1995) he was responsible for international product research and development as well as licensing. Presently he is chairman of the International Committee of the AHPA (American Herbal Products Association). After receiving his Ph.D. in phytopathology he was involved in medical research at the Medical Universities of Münster, Boston, Budapest and Groningen for ten years. He has published over 180 scientific articles, 4 books and the CD-ROM "Herbal Remedies".
