David B. Allison

David B Allison, Member – External Scientific Council
Dr. Allison received his Ph.D. from Hofstra University in 1990. He completed post-doctoral fellowships at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and at the New York Obesity Research Center at St. Luke's/Roosevelt Hospital Center and Columbia University. In 2001, he joined the faculty of the University of Alabama at Birmingham as Professor of Biostatistics, Head of the Section on Statistical Genetics, and Associate Director of the NIH-funded Center for Research on Clinical Nutrition. He has authored over 250 scientific publications and edited three books. He holds several NIH and NSF grants, and serves on the Council of the North American Association for the Study of Obesity. Dr. Allison's research interests include human obesity, clinical trials, quantitative genetics, and statistical and research methodology.
